• Contact & RSVP forms: name, email, phone, address, city/state/ZIP, number of guests, branch of service (if applicable), and selected event.
• Veterans: Share Your Story: name, contact info, service branch, and your story/testimonial (only published with your permission).
• Newsletter sign-up: email address (and optionally name/ZIP).
• Donations: handled by third-party processors; we do not receive full payment card numbers.
• Volunteer forms: interests, availability, contact details, and any notes you provide.

Information collected automatically

• Log & device data: IP address, browser, device type, pages visited, and timestamps.
• Cookies & similar technologies: used for site functionality, remembering preferences, and analytics.

2) How we use information

• Respond to inquiries; manage events and RSVPs.
• Send campaign updates, newsletters, and calls to action (unsubscribe anytime).
• Publish veteran stories with your permission (we may edit for clarity/length).
• Improve the Site and measure performance (analytics).
• Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of users and the campaign.

3) Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with:

• Service providers: website host, email delivery (e.g., Constant Contact/Mailchimp), form tools (e.g., Contact Form 7 / Easy Form Builder), events tools (e.g., The Events Calendar/Event Tickets), and analytics platforms.
• Donation processors: if you donate, you’re redirected to a processor; their policies apply.
• Legal & safety: to comply with law or protect rights, property, and safety.

4) Cookies & analytics

We use cookies to keep the Site working, remember preferences, and understand aggregated usage. You can control cookies via your browser settings. If we use Google Analytics or similar tools, those providers may set their own cookies per their policies.

• Email: By providing your email, you agree to receive campaign communications. Each message includes an Unsubscribe link.

• Unsubscribe using the link in any campaign email.
• Request access, updates, or deletion of your info at laura@kurtschwab4congress.com.
• Request correction/removal of a published testimonial/story.
• California residents: you may request to know, correct, or delete certain personal information. We do not sell your personal information.

7) Data retention

We keep information as long as needed for campaign operations, legal requirements, and recordkeeping—then delete or anonymize it.

8) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9) Children’s privacy

This Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child provided information, please contact us so we can remove it.

10) Third-party links

Links to other websites (donations, social media, etc.) are governed by those sites’ privacy practices.

11) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be posted here, and the “Last updated” date will change.
