Standing strong for those who served our nation.
To my fellow veterans,
From the day I raised my right hand and took the oath, I became part of a brotherhood and sisterhood that transcends politics, geography, and even time. We served together, fought together, and carried burdens that most will never fully understand. Like so many of you, I know the pride of wearing the uniform — and the challenges that come when the uniform comes off. I’ve seen firsthand how our system too often fails those who gave so much for our country, and that is unacceptable.
When I came home from my deployments, I realized that the battles many of us face don’t end overseas. Navigating the VA system can feel like an impossible mission, with endless red tape, long waits, and too many veterans falling through the cracks. I have sat across from warriors who risked everything, only to be told “come back later.” That’s not care. That’s bureaucracy. And it has to change.
I will fight to overhaul how we care for those who’ve worn the uniform. Every veteran deserves to choose their doctor close to home — no more waiting months for appointments or driving hours to the nearest VA hospital. We will break down the walls of a broken system and give veterans immediate access to the care they need and have earned.
Our veterans are the core of our communities. You are leaders, mentors, and protectors long after your service ends. That’s why I will work to ensure fair disability compensation, better pay for active duty and first responders, and modern equipment to keep them safe on today’s frontlines — whether that’s on the battlefield or here in our neighborhoods fighting the fentanyl crisis.
We made a promise to never leave a brother or sister behind. In Congress, I will honor that promise every single day. Together, we will build a future where every veteran feels valued, supported, and never forgotten. You served our nation. Now, it’s my mission to serve you.
